All this year, my 3 desktop browsers have been using more and more RAM during the day. I have 4 GB of RAM on Win XP but Chrome and Firefox both crash daily because they use up the last of my RAM, at least 3 GB of RAM for the browser alone. Every month the browsers get more RAM hungry. I looked last night in a forum about this problem and the typical response was "why have RAM if it isn't used" or "I've got 8 GB or 16 GB or 24 GB of RAM so this isn't a problem for me." There was no sympathy for anybody on a 32 bit system.
My question is does Firefox and/or Chrome use up RAM like this on tablets? For reference, on my desktop I typically open 24 tabs in Chrome, max out my RAM, close 10 tabs and get back 600 MB, but an hour later I still have to close the browser completely to get all the browser RAM back and start over again, repeat every 3 hours.
