How to put the Asus Zen Pad S8 in Sleep Mode?

Hello!
My old cover for the Zen Pad put it in Sleep mode when I closed it. Now I got a new cover and the auto-sleep doesn't work with that one. Is there a way to activate sleep mode manually? I don't want to switch it off completely, and if I leave it on it drains the battery.

Welcome to Android Central! Where did you get the new cover from? Is it an official ASUS cover, or a 3rd party one? If the latter, then it's possible it wasn't designed correctly to act as a smartcover. Most devices that have a smartcover feature use a magnetic sensor in the bezel to detect a small magnet embedded somewhere on the smartcover. If the manufacturer forgot to embed the magnet (or placed it incorrectly), it won't work.

Contact the manufacturer or seller and see if they can help.
