Gen 1 ZW with replaced Note 7

I'm having to restart my Gen 1 ZenWatch pretty much every day with my replaced Note 7. If not, no notification cards pop up. The watch is connected, but no notifications appear. Anyone else seeing similar behavior? Is this forum a small empty room with faint echos now-a-days?

I do reboot my phone and watch every now and then, but usually only once a week or so. Definitely not every day... May be worth factory resetting the watch, just to see if that will help.
