Over the past few months, I have been to the petrol station with my 2018 Mustang GT PP.
During my time there, I often notice people that do NOT turn off their engines, while filling their car with petrol.

Is this now a thing, or...?

I wouldn’t do that. I haven’t noticed it but it could be a thing. I’m not always the first to know about new things.

    Nice Stang by the way
I would recommend , turning it off for few reasons.
    1. On newer cars leaving the car running will create a vacuum leak and put the check engine light on , when car running gas cap supposed to be closed so the computer knows if a fault with your emmisions.
    2. Can get inaccurate reading if your gas gauge until you restart the car or drive again.
    3. Safety Safety Safety fuel doesn't ignite your fumes coming out the open gas door does .
    B. Diddy and ivanwi11iams like this.

Another thing is, the few minutes it takes to fill, that's fuel being wasted. Idling at 800 RPM, that's 200 rotations that is a fuel spray. I'd guess about a quarter ounce per shot. Do that 200 time for three minutes...it builds up and quick. And that's one fill up.

I just do not understand why lately people have been leaving their engines on.
Maybe because it is so hot in Atlanta, GA. Currently, in the 85-90's...! They just can't wait for the airconditioning to cool the car.

    Just weird...
