Yikes! Well that sure gives good reason NOT to hunt for an Axon 7..this is very valuable yet sad!

One plus 6? Honor v10 and I guess HTC U12. though the latter will cost the most

I want some something similar in price and unlocked. It seems it will be 1 6plus or another Chinese made phone that is considered their flag ship phone but not the flag ship price

The cheaper unlocked devices you list may still have support issues due to corporate ownership, especially the V10.

I don't know if it's possible to, in good conscience, recommend non flagship devices to consumers anymore, and that includes the OnePlus lineup. The idea of consumers being abandoned by the OEM seems something that the OEMs are a little too comfortable with.

But the flagship phones are the better than non flagship phones.

Well you could always get the V30LinqThinq thing...it's only what... $950? ..I have NO clue what LG is thinking especially with the deplorable sales of the $1000 iPhone X...

It's crazy how much people are willing to pay for these over priced phones.
It seems these corps are testing these prices and watching how many dumb asses will pay for these over priced phones.

You don't think there's any way a person could think the price is reasonable for what they want?

It's fine if they want to spend that kind of money. Whatever they think it's reasonable. But really if u step back and look at the whole picture it's pretty ridiculous.
I'm just talking about cell phones.

I guess it just depends on what your priorities are. Android only has one option to take privacy and security seriously and so whatever the price tag is for that option as long as I can afford it then that's what I'm paying. So for my standards, the pixel and pixel 2 and its variants are the only reasonably priced devices out there, and everything else regardless of what this sticker price is is essentially worthless if that's how I'm basing the purchase decision. I would never be able to justify paying a penny more for the OnePlus 6 then I would for the Moto G6 because the Moto G6 in my opinion is a better device all around, but it's kind of dead whoever is buying the phone I think to make the decision whether or not the price tag is worth it for them.

But phones like HTC, Samsung alike has tone of bloatware.
But the pixel would be another option

The other thing that kills me is phones like the Honor 7X and Hauwei Mate XYZ...Why release a phone with a single band WiFi radio, no less one that works on the 2.4 gHz band, which is the MOST crowded, slowest of the two..I just don't get it. The dual band radio couldn't add THAT much to the cost could it? I think the price point for these phones is spot on, but lacking dual band WiFi is a FAIL for me.

The price of these phones are spot on. Let's face it, it is over priced. But consumers are willing to pay for it. If consumers would stop paying for these extremely over priced cell phones, than price will be cheaper.

Everything is priced just right if people keep paying the price. Lower price is only effective with the absence of value. Carriers and the OEMs are good at creating a strong perception of value and have no interest to do otherwise.

What's really interesting is the Axon 7 market right now. I'm seeing new listings on Ebay with prices in some cases higher than original retail. For a phone that no longer has support nor gets OS updates, the value in my eyes, is nearly zero. Sorry folks, but the truth of the matter is easy to see.

Just saw a video clip of Android authority on FB that ZTE phones dropped like a tank. Plus the ban hammer doesn't help.
So, it seems companies like Huawei or Xiaomi phones might be another option for comparable phones like the axon 7 or if 9 ever hits the USA market.
But it seems Huawei is having issues to.

With all the USA putting sanctions and among other things, this sucks for people that want budget price phones bit higher quality internals.
Damn I hope there is a comparable phone I can get unlocked.
I do kind of like p20 but price wise it isn't very budget friendly.
I'll guess I'll have to hold onto my axon 7 a little longer for these phone prices to come down

Now Trump is going to save ZTE???! WTF is going on here!

Employees of ZTE Corp, the Chinese telecom equipment maker, are cheering a tweet by U.S. President Donald Trump that suggested a resolution is in sight for a devastating ban on sales to the Chinese company.
