Stock Nook Color - Email Help?

Just got a Nook Color for my wife. I haven't done anything in terms of rooting or running Nookie Froyo on it - and won't until/unless she decides she wants it done. (Personally, I'd have done it already, but it is her machine.) She's loving the reader capabilities for sure.

Anyway, when she connects via the web to:

gmail - she can read fine. when composing a reply or new email - she can enter the "to" and "subject" information just fine - she then taps into the message body and cannot get the keyboard to pop-up. So, she can't type anything in the body. Is there a way around this?

comcast - when she gets the list of emails in her inbox, she taps on an email to read it. Nothing happens. I would have thought her email would show up. Also, she has the same issue as gmail with composing a new email - she can enter the "to" and the "subject" but can't get a keyboard to enter data for the message body.

Any suggestions?

In case anyone reads this... by default the browser was going to, say, www.comcast.net. Once we used m.comcast.net then we didn't have a problem.

Same with gmail -- use the mobile site.
