Is there a fix if we have installed CM7 the way you said not to and can't access recovery? I don't want to loose the apps I have installed.
What way are you talking about? You can always backup your apps using titanium backup and then restore them on a fresh install.

I am running a MAC.....have a 16GB Class 4 microSD card....continually getting stuck at the beginning of this process.....trying to write the image file onto the card.... I get the file, double-click it, the file then ends as .img and also created a "boot" icon on the desktop....
I insert SD Card, and go to TERMINAL, my card is on Disk1....so then I try:
    dd if=generic-sdcard.img of=/dev/disk1 bs=1024k

    get nothing.......please help ......
I don't have very much experience with a mac and I no longer have one in my house. Try asking this on verygreen's thread linked to in the bottom of my guide.

How does that work? I know how to back up my apps, but how do you restore them?

    1) So I SHOULD back up the system data, too?

    2) Should I have USB Debugging on?

    1. Depends if you want just the apps or if you want the app data too.

    2. Yes

I thought USB Debugging doesn't let you access the SD Card or something....

Mounting via USB doesn't let you use the SD card.

Great instructions, And I am happy with it, but is it normal for it not to allow me to install many apps such as kindle/ or cool reader, but say they are incompatible with the device. Thanks

You need to upgrade to CM7.1 or change your dpi to 160.

7.1 already has the DPI adjusted to 160. You do not need to change it.

The RC does not have this change. He needs to upgrade to the 7.1 stable.
