I am extremely new to forums so I hope I'm doing this right.

I got an LG G3 from T-Mobile sometime last week "supposedly" brand new (I don't know anymore).

It's great, I love it and couldn't be happier. It suits all my needs and isn't nearly as bulky as I feared it would be. Not a lot of bloatware either, which I'm thankful for.

Before ever purchasing it I researched features and one of them was a 24 hour battery life. While I'm aware it isn't strictly 24 hours and the battery life depends on how much I use it and how consuming certain apps are. But I can tell you all I really do is browse Reddit, Facebook and Tumblr and watch an occasional YouTube video. On charge is when I do stuff like Netflix and other taxing apps. So why is the battery draining so fast when I do minimal tasks on it? I don't expect 24 hours but for the love of [insert deity here], it rarely lasts more than five hours! I expected at LEAST 12. I don't know if it's the battery or what but I don't like the fact I can't have my phone on me throughout the day without fear of it dying. And I don't want to invest in a portable charger.

    Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! It would help to see some battery stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

    1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
    2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
    3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
    4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

Hey B. Diddy, sorry for taking a bit to respond. These screenshots are fresh and this time I rarely did anything with the phone all day. Checking the battery stats it says the screen is taking up 60% of the battery, though the screen is either always lowered to 50% or on 'auto'.

Battery drain for Samsung s5, 4.4.2 version. Has not been lasting one day, if I do not have it charge overnight, no power even if I had full charge on going to bed. Had to uninstall Facebook app as it made my phone run super HOT to the touch. Still not happy with phone as of late, it seemed to come out of no where, after I paid for my phone in full (funny that). Why is my phone using so much power to run my system? I have nothing on it, not even my beloved Facebook because I can't. Must choose between, power or app. NOT HAPPY at all. Why is my batter draining so fast?-2015-02-23-23.23.53.jpg

What's the total screen-on time? Tap the Screen listing, which should give you more details. Not sure what the usual total expected screen-on time for the G3 is, but I would guess it's around 4 or 5 hours max. The G3's screen uses a decent amount of battery, since it's QHD--there are many more pixels to push.

Welcome to Android Central! I think the latest Facebook update is messed up, because it's using an inordinate amount of battery on my Nexus 5 as well, with only minimal usage by me, and with video auto-play off, and refresh set to manual. So that might be part of it.

Your phone is showing a lot of wakelocks (the many lines in the Awake category) This could be from a lot of things. One thing to turn off is Location Reporting, in Settings>Location--it's not really needed, unless you want to let people know where you are via Google+.

Unfortunately my phone broke the other day and I have been unable to use it let alone gauge "screen on-time" which by that I assume you mean how long I keep the screen on throughout the day. The answer would be hardly at all. I'm getting a replacement tomorrow and if the battery acts the same, I guess it's something I'm doing then. I'll keep you posted.
