why does my batery die so fast?

I recently bought a Samsung galaxy 4 and notice that my battery dies fast ill charge it to 100% and it wont last me the whole day I use it regular but not excessively I cheeked my battery setting and screen is taking the most battery percentage at 39%. I notice I lose 1% about every 5-10 minutes use, sometimes ill lose battery even wen its not at use. Is something wrong with my battery or is it just my usage?

Tell us what you use the phone for, what your basic settings for sync and location reporting are, what your signal strength is, what your battery usage stats are at the end of a day's use, and the screen-on time and screen brightness, and we'll have a go at diagnosing.

From what you've said so far, it sounds okay to me. Also, the phone will use battery when switched off, because of background usage.
