I recently bought a 12000mAh Samsung power bank. On it's back its written:

Input: DC 5V/1A

By which i understand that 1A means 1 ampere but i also brought a 2 ampere charger for it. I'm afraid something might go wrong so i wanted to ask if my power bank with 1A input would be safe to be charged by the 2A charger.

Also would it charge twice as fast?

Hi and welcome to Android central.

It will charge just fine. The amp rating is the max of current it can flow. You can going higher, however, you can't go lower. It will not charge faster, it will only draw the same amount of current.
