I have the HTC one m8. When I plug my phone in it won't charge. I've switched cables, I've switched adapters, wall sockets. The only one that kinda worked was the one in the kitchen. Should I just take my phone in to a store? I've seen this in a couple other posts is this a manufacturer flaw?

The culprit might be the phones microUSB port.
You should take the phone to a repair shop for testing.

Mine did the same thing this week. Did you get yours to work? I filed a complaint with the BBB against HTC and hope others are doing so as well. Its not a coincidence that so many charging ports are failing. Mine was 16 months of use and HTC refuses to fix under warranty, stating it is out of warranty and they will not budge.
