Want to root with RootzWiki, and get the 5.7.893 leak. Not installing any ROMS right now, so would I be better to just wait for the OTA? I'm hoping to improve battery life in the meantime with 5.7.893. Any suggestions?

It doesn't hurt to update to 5.7.893, go for it. I'm running the SHIFT3R ROM and I get better battery life than when I was on stock.

No, it doesn't "hurt" and it will probably improve your reception and battery life, especially if you go for one of th3ory's ROMs (or others out that also seem to offer improved batt life). The only disadvantage you'll have is that whenever there finally is an official OTA update, one of these days, you most likely won't be able to flash that since you'll already have some upgraded kernal and radio files. So you'll have to wait until the dev community figures out a solution (which they will) to get you there. MANY of us are in this boat and it doesn't bother me in the least.. but obv depends on your comfort level.

It may cause you to get stuck off the upgrade path. In fact 5.8.894 (through cheesecake) has been around for several days now and it has already shown that people on 5.7.893 cannot upgrade as the this update fails unless you are are fully stock 886.
