Why my dtek60 runs smoothly only when it is plugged in?

This is happening as the next phase of my earlier problem with my phone, which was sound glitches while the phone is ringing or when I'm listening to music. Now the phone keeps rebooting continously ( does not get passed the blackberry logo). When it's charging (plugged in), it runs perfectly. Even the sound problem is gone.

A bootloop can be a sign of a failing battery. Is the phone fully charged when the bootloop occurs?

Yes, and after a few reboots the charge percentage drops drastically.

Thank you B. Diddy. I asked around. Interestingly a new battery for my dtek60 costs a lot more than that of other popular phones. I wonder if it's the same elsewhere.

If you're looking to replace it yourself, I found a few on eBay in the $15-20 range: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-...34?hash=item521d0a635e%3Ag%3ANbIAAOSwgRpc61Fj. They're not OEM, though, so it's hard to say how reliable they might be.
