    Hi everyone

New to the group/forum and I was hoping to get some feedback or ideas on where to go for my next purchase.

I currently have a Xiaomi Mi A1 phone. Love it but about 3 months ago the screen cracked and I'm leaning towards getting something different.

I guess 2 issues I have with the phone now is lack of NFC and it doesnt seem to work well with Android Auto. Would love to have both of these in my new phone if possible.

I'm in Canada, but I have no issues purchasing in other markets if I'm getting a great deal.

Would love something with a large screen, Android 10, and compatible with NFC/Android Auto.

Seen some recent posts about the Umidigi F2 but the shipping dates seem poor.

    Thanks for any assistance

    Mark

Welcome to Android Central! If you are looking for a big phone, I'd recommend the Samsung Galaxy A50. It's 6.4" with a 4009 man battery. As far as I know, it's compatible with Android Auto.

I live in Canada too - you can get the A50 in-store. What carrier are you with?

The A51 was apparently announced in December so you may be able to get a discount on the still-perfectly-good A50.

Good luck, and let us know what happens!

Here is the spec sheet for it.

I had a Samsung S6 before, and really liked it. I went with a Xiaomi this time as it had a great price point and the specs were similar to Samsung

Awesome - thank you, I'll take a look.

I'm on the east coast, and I'm currently with Public Mobile (no issues sor far, knock on wood).

So it seems the a50 is going for around $400 in Canada. Any ideas of a site for a better price?

The Umidigi uses a Mediatek SoC, so that would remove it from any list of mine immediately. The Xiaomi Mi A1 runs a Snapdragon 625 - that's no longer a mid-range chipset. A phone similar to the Xiaomi Mi A1, but current (better chipset, faster), and about the same price, is the Xiaomi Mi A3 or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8.

I appreciate the feedback and info. As much as I enjoyed having the Xiaomi, the lack of NFC and Android Auto issues are pushing me away to go thst route again. The A1 was nice being on Android One and not MUI, but I think I need to go with a different brand.

I don't mind jumping up a bit slightly in price, if I'm getting those options I mentioned.

Is the A50 the best Samsung phone in thst price point? Last one I had was the S5 (thought it was S6) so I'm a bit out of the loop now.

I'm open to most options as long as I'm not going to go way over my budget

I think it is the best phone at that price point - but before you go that far, what is your screen size price point? The S10e is also a grand phone that will be at a lesser price point than the S10 and S10 Plus. It's 5.7" though - you said you wanted a big screen, yes?

Yea that's a bit smaller than I was hoping for. Again, I guess I'm trying to look for the best bang for the buck

    Hi guys

Been doing a quick search online and it seems the A50 and the Motorola Moto G7 plus seems to be the top 2 options in my price point. Anyone use either and shed some light on what to do lol?
