You don't understand, I was REALLLY wanting a Desktop Dock (I even said so earlier today in another thread) and this happens. It is like Jesus was watching over me personally. Plus, the one (plain) case looks FANTASTIC!

I don't think they ever had any stock. Someone in another forum said the dock has been there since the Captivate was released in July. Also, the edges of the dock are rounded - not too Captivate-friendly.

The official Samsung press release is dated for today.

I'm not positive if the accessories are on sale as of yet but at least we know of Samsung's intentions.

I had a quick look at their website and it was horrifically organized. I gave up.

Important thing to note though is that Samsung officially announces Galaxy S accessories

Not sure why they would make a Dock for the Captivate and make it "not too Captivate-friendly" Probably just the viewing angle of the picture.

I am currently in for the Case though and it is in stock and shipping tomorrow.

I can't find the vehicle dock on there anywhere. I think I'll stick with my $14.99 Arkon vent mount, seeing as how the desktop dock is $40, I'm guessing the car dock will be around $50. And who knows if you can use a case with it, I know you can with the Mega Grip.

The dock is for the Galaxy S line of phones, which all of them but the Captivate have rounded edges like the iPhone 3Gs. The Captivate is more squared off on the edges, which means, while it will still work, it will not look as clean as if you had a Vibrant or Epic.

Been checking the site everyday since the weekend this phone came out. Dock has been their sold out since day one. They had a cool car kit but seemed to have pulled it a week or so ago. I remember it was the same price as the dock so I think that's $39.99.

The Arkon mount looks like a great alternative to the official one, especially since it's not on the site and as much cheaper thant the official one.

Good news cause I misplaced the wall socket a day ago. I took the cable to use on the computer to sideload. Now I can't find the wall plug. It's some place unless my dog decided to bury it outside.

I am thinking about buying the official wallet case that samsung makes for the captivate. Can someone who has purchased it offer any thoughts about it?
