How to turn ON the Xiaomi Powerbank 10400mAh?

When my powerbank goes to sleep mode and then i connect the phone to charge it does not get charged. Then i need to connect the cable to provide power to the bank and wake it up. Post which i can remove the input and it charges properly.

Is this how power banks work? really a weird behaviour

Iam facing the same problem here. Why N how this happen? Is there any sugestion or clue how to solve tis problem??
