I have a Samsung 12.2 Pro Android tablet. I really like it, but I think it is dying. I decided it makes sense to get a Chromebook that can run Android apps. I really want one with a detachable keyboard so that when using it like a tablet, it isn't big and heavy (I want 12-13 in screen). I can find almost no Chromebooks that fit this criteria. It seems like Android tablets are on the outs as there are few announcements of new ones.

I guess my question is, will this change with Android app support coming to Chromebooks?

Folks in this price range are more interested in either Mac or Windows laptops or the Ipad.

Google has their work cut out for them.

Closest thing to what you're looking for is the 360 degree hinge convertibles like the Acer R13. Chromebooks seem to be going with that form factor rather than imitating the Surface line. Not sure if it's cost reasons or simply a lack of a desire to emulate Microsoft.
