When I got my chromebook I used apps for my Google Calendar, GMail, Docs, and so forth. I didn't want to be dead in the water without WiFi. After almost a year I realized I had never once been without WiFi. Everywhere I go with my chromebook has free WiFi and it's not like I'm going to haul it out on a city bus.

So, I started switching and found the web-based applications aren't identical to the Android apps. They're better. For example, with web-based GMail I can insert photos directly into my email. With the Android app, I can't.

Now, I've reversed and if there is a web-based application I uninstall the Android app and use web-based. A few apps I used are not available as web-based so the best available is Android.at

    What are your thoughts?

Mostly the downside of that is the lack of 'true' integration with the system. But since you can still get notifications from web-based apps, you might not miss it that much.
