Acer is releasing 2 new Chromeboxes:

Android Central -- Acer launches new, Intel Core i3-powered Chromeboxes (article link)

    Dual-core 1.9GHz Intel Core i3 4030U processor
    16GB Solid State Drive
Supports output to 2K and 4K displays

    CXI-i34GKM
    4GB of RAM
    Price: $349.99

    CXI-i38GKM
    8GB of RAM
    Price: $399.99

I'm guessing the price may turn off a few people, which is a shame because these Chromeboxes seem to have decent specs. Chrome OS probably doesn't need much hardware to run, but some people like to dual boot Linux with their Chromeboxes.

Prices do seem to be creeping up, but the 4-8 GB RAM range and the 4K display support are definite upgrades that may justify it. I wonder how well the i3 will support 4K, though--lots of pixels to push!

Pricing on Chromebooks and Chromeboxes can be tricky.

If they're too expensive, people will probably buy a Windows PC.

If they're too cheap, manufacturers may not feel it's worth the effort to make them if they don't make a lot of money on each sale.
