USB Charging And Keyboard

Okay so I've had my bionic since it was released and love it but I'm having a small issue with it. When I connect it to my computer to charge, I have a hard time typing accurately on the keyboard. The phone ends up typing out letters around the one I'm trying to press and it also types out the same letter 2 or 3 times when I only touch the screen once. Oddly, it only does this when I have the phone charging directly from my laptop, not when I'm charging from an outlet or off the charger completely. Anybody else ever experience this? Is this just a problem with android, or is it specific to the Bionic or my phone?
