I wanted to let others look at my battery info. I know i used to go home at end of day with a half battery left on GB. On ICS, I'm coming home under 30% with normal use as before. I've wiped the system cache, and the last thing to do is a reset but would that definitely help?

Did you disable 4g on GB but not doing that now on ICS? I don't think a reset would help. You could also of installed something that is effecting it.

The only things different, are that I've uninstalled a bunch of apps that ICS makes redundant. 4G has been on while I had GB.

And here's another battery shot. Do the percentages and order of things look right, or is there a definite hog?

Woah!! On most devices the display should ALWAYS be first and foremost with the highest percentage of battery use! I'm not completely sure but I know when I upgraded my devices to ICS the Android Operating system ranked very high for the first few days and slowly went back to normal. Is this the first day or two with ICS?

It was finishing OTA update around 8am on 10/23/2012. I thought mine looked odd, because all the other shots across the internet of that screen had "Screen" first and the OS second.

I just looked and noticed similar behavior on my just updated bionic, with the OS taking 47% of my battery. Hopefully it is just a temporary issue.

I kind of noticed the same thing when I went from GB to a leaked ICS. But overall it still wasn't bad. Even though I didn't notice it, I probably did use my device a bit more during the day because it was so much nicer to look at compared to GB.

10/23/12 is fairly recent so I wouldn't jump the gun and do a factory reset YET (You have to give the Android OS time to settle all the newly updated files)! However if it continues for say another week or two then it might be your only option. If you do have to resort to a factory reset I recommend AppMonster to backup and restore all your apps (it actually backs up the original .apk incase the app is no longer offered in the store or if you downloaded / installed from alternative sources). I know it seems like a daunting task (I just had to reset my Razr after flashing Google Now) but Google and other 3rd party apps have taken a lot of the hard work out of it!

EDIT:

I also forgot to ask what it was showing under display for time on (kinda hard to explain but goto the same screen you were on where it shows what has been using the battery and then tap on the entry for display or screen and it should show up right there).

Ok, I'll let it sit for a couple weeks and see what happens. It's been on since 7:30am. I've had a lot of app installs before, and now I'm down to a handful of apps. So if it comes to a reset, it shouldn't be that big of a pain for me.

Ok, it seems to have settled down Friday. Friday unplugged from charger at usual time in morning. Spent 8 hours in concrete and metal building at work. Went home and had at least half battery left.(forgot pic for last night but it just the same as tonight.) Today went well as well. I've used it like i normally would. So it would seem to let it settle at first and see what happens.

First two are end of Saturday night, last two are Friday morning.

On GB I had my phone set so that after 15 mins of inactivity, background data would turn off and that saved a ton of power. Is there a way to do that on ICS?

I think you can set up something like that with Smart Actions.

Yeah I saw that but it looks like that the only option there is time based (ie, morning hours, afternoon hours, etc) but I just want it based in inactivity. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

What if you have your screen set to shut off in a specific amount of time (under settings/display/sleep), then set the smart action to let the display going 'off' trigger data off? I think that would work.

You can create a smart action to trigger on display off to turn cellular data off. I've tried it, but it would always go to reconnect data when woke up. Basically, when I needed data that moment I had to wait for it to kick on (just a couple seconds, but I want data then lol).
