I'm sure there are dozens of threads just like this one, so anyone can redirect me if they want. But I want to know your opinions. I installed Chrome, but am hesitant to make the switch as I like the stock browser too. In your opinion what are the pros and cons of each? Thanks all.

That's the beauty of android just keep both if u like them both I have 4 browsers on my phone firefox stock chrome and boat browser

I stick with stock + flash. I do have Dolphin, but that's just because one site was giving me fits on the stock one and didn't work right. Otherwise, I just prefer the simple and clean layout of the stock browser.

Stock is the fastest for me. Chrome is too slow. I use dolphin beta as a back up.

I was trying to figure this out myself. I have been using both stock and chrome for the past week and I can't see a huge difference. I am still hoping that I come across something that makes it so obvious for me to choose one from the other, but no. A co-worker of mine swears by chrome. He says it's easier for him, because he has his Google+ account and it sinks well with his Google Nexus Tab.... So if you have to sink with your desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone...Sounds like Chrome is the way to go for easy access across all devices??? Or maybe it's just preference?

Stock. It's essentially 'developed' for your device. Chrome is too janky, even on flagship devices.

One issue with the default: On starting the default browser after the ICS upgrade, a dialog box popped up stating that the browser would be "signing in" to websites with my gmail address. This box popped up only the first time after the upgrade and has not popped up since. There is no mention of any way to disable or prevent the "signing in" anywhere in the settings of the default browser.
There may be a developer mode that can stop this tracking, but I have not found it yet.

A browser that obeys my instructions rather than googles marketing department would be nice.

After trying about 4 browsers I've pretty much settled on Opera Mobile (NOT Opera Mini). On two web sites I have to revert to the stock one that came with the Bionic, but otherwise . . .

If you have not yet tried OM, you should give it a real try, as in at least a few weeks, and learn to use it's features.

fwiw,

RP

The stock browser "feels" faster for me.

Chrome and Dolphin here - I don't use the stock browser. Chrome is fantastic in terms of security, and performance is great. Dolphin feels faster to me, and while the tab interface isn't as nice, the rest of the UI feels more natural. This whole post is just my opinion, YMMV.

Original stock browser here.
Flash is still not extinct like some would like to believe it is so I need flash.

Had been using Dolphin, but after seeing that many people seem to like the Stock one better I switched over and am liking it so far.

Chrome allows you to sync bookmarks from your desktop version and will actually open your homepage on the phone...I have about a dozen tabs on my desktop and haven't tried that many on the phone yet.

Just want to chime in and yes, I have experienced excellent performance and stability using Chrome on the Bionic. No complaints.
