Everywhere I've compare the two (using SpeedTest), LTE always performs faster overall. Posted below is about the best performance I've seen with my Bionic on WiFI
Test Date: Apr 2, 2013 1:17:38 pm
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Washington, DC
Download: 15907 kbps
Upload: 13042 kbps
Ping: 46 ms

And LTE
Test Date: Apr 2, 2013 1:20:09 pm
Connection Type: Lte
Server: Washington, DC
Download: 20216 kbps
Upload: 12778 kbps
Ping: 70 ms

The Wifi I'm currently on is at minimum 50MB/S down & 25MB/S up. However, my laptop Wifi usually sees more like 58 & 30. At home, the laptop always sees much better WiFi performance than my Bionic.

I confirmed the same thing. My parents house has verizon fios internet. Via wifi the bionic tops out similarly. I think its the way the wifi is set up. What's really freaky is that several times Up would be better than down on the bionic. Of course none of the strangeness happens on a PC connected via wifi.

I do remember seeing something long ago about adjusting the wifi buffer values. But for the life of me I can't remember whether that was on webOS or Android.

It was at least on Android, and there was a Bionic hack for it that worked, though it wasn't sticky through a reboot.
