DROID RAZR M: 4.4.2 KitKat Update

A number of people have been asking me about that status of the KitKat upgrade for the 2012 DROID family (HD and M). I am happy to report that we have made great progress and it should only be a few more weeks until you guys can enjoy it. So stay tuned.....

So, who is David Schuster?

Anyways, I read that there was a KitKat soak test, for RAZR M, sent out to the select, on March 24.

Schuster works for Motorola Mobility and had posted previous upgrade statements for newer phones. He's trustworthy.

And the March thing wasn't a full soak test. It was more of a heads up of a soak test that would eventually begin.

Now the wait begins. If it gets it in a few weeks and it turns out good, then I may stay on my M until the fall/winter. I forgot how nice if is to have a smaller phone.

Yup another week. Stay patient, they said a "a few weeks" and it's now 15 days after that. So by Monday or Tuesday next week we should hear some follow up or the update should be ready by then. I am actually excited. If KitKat makes my phone like new I may just keep it for a while longer.

It`s different compared to that. The New Motorola and the old HTC are two different companies. I feel we are going to get it. 4-5 days away now.

If indeed kitkat was designed to work on less powerful devices it definitely should be rolled out to phones like the M

I have 2 different Ms. One is rooted with an unlocked bootloader.
The other has the 98.18.94.XT907 update, which, as far as I can determine, cannot be bootloader unlocked.
I'm hesitant to accept the Kit Kat update, in hopes that, in the near future, an exploit will be developed allowing bootloader unlocking of the 98.18.94.XT907.

Any opinions in this area?
