I downloaded and installed Nova launcher last night. Now when I receive a text message, the icon doesn't show how many new messages I have. Has anybody else had this same problem? Also, is there really no way to install the Motorola Circles Widget when you use Nova launcher? That was my favorite widget.

You can't use circles on anything but the stock launcher. That sucks.

To get Unread sms and missed calls, you'll need to download TeslaUnread Plugin. That works in conjunction with Nova Launcher.

"One More Clock" has a pretty good remake of the circles widget. Its not exact in looks or function, but it works with Nova.

Thanks for the replies. I actually decided to switch back to the stock launcher.

Certainly there is nothing wrong with the stock launcher. I'd appreciate a setting for the grid density and if they did that I'd have no reason to switch, but Moto does a good job on their launcher.

Being stock sucks. There's no customizations.
