Charging thru HD Dock with PC

I just got the Razr Maxx and love the phone. Went to hook up the HD Dock to my computer to charge like I always do with all my previous phones, Its not charging.. Is this normal?

Normal? No, the phone should should charge through a computer USB port but not all USB ports are created equal. At best you'll get 500mAh with USB .... that's the spec. Many ports on the front of a PC put out much less juice. The included moto charger should be putting out something close to 1 amp per hour and would take 3+ hours to charge a completely dead Maxx. You can leave it plugged in to your computer's usb port and it might charge but it wont charge fast. Consider plugging it in with the included wall charger.

Found out the Dock was shipped bad,.. Got a replacement.. Thanks for the info..
