How to make Verizon email primary email account

Have a new Razr Maxx. I set up my Verizon email account but the required gmail account is the primary email showing at the bottom of the screen. How do I make my verizon account the primary account at the bottom of the screen.

How do I change the icons/widgets at the bottom of the screen? :-\

you can't. Every Android phone requires you to have a gmail account.

Yes I am aware of this...but how do I make the icon on the bottom (that is on every screen) be my verizon account rather than my gmail account? I know it can be done...just don't know how.

The gmail icon is for gmail. The "Messaging" icon (that looks like a mailbox) can be used for the other email account types. Find that icon and open it and you should see your other email account/accounts.

To further clarify, the icon you want is one that is like a while envelope and a red "@" sign slipping into the envelope.

Tap on that and you would get all your e-mail accounts (I have Yahoo and Verizon on that icon). Once in, tap on the Menu hard button and there is an option to chose which accounts should be your primary when you tap on that icon.
