Replacing cracked screen on backup xt1080 Droid MAXX

Decided to replace the broken glass on my Droid MAXX. Everything so far is going well, LCD screen looks good after glass removal BUT the screen doesn't recognize any touches to the screen. I had to re-insert two connections but nothing... Is there anyone out there with a good suggestion on what I may have missed or did I kill my phone?

Thanks

The old glass is removed but the new one isn't in place? Isn't what you're replacing the glass and digitizer? That's the part that recognized touches. If it's not replaced yet, it can't recognize touches yet.

It may have been a better idea to buy one of those all in one units, glass/lcd/digitizer. More expensive, perhaps, but definitely worth avoiding the hassle of separating anything.
