Droid X + HDMI cable = charging too?

Simple question..I was about to go and buy an HDMI Type D cable for my Droid X (would like to bring over movies for friends and family and play right from my phone). But, I was curious, does the HDMI cable charge the phone the same way the USB does? Won't stop my purchasing, just a curiosity.

No it will not. By the way if you plan on showing some movies off you will only be able to show movies you have recorded. If you want to play other movies you may have put on your phone you will need the app RealHDMI. Its in the market and totaly amazing.
