Re: [ROM]ACS ICS v2 (noCiQ)[EI22]

Do we just flash this in CWM like any other rom?

Also, does it matter what version of CWM we're using?

Yes, flash like any other ROM in CWM.. Wipe and flash.

CWM version.. Try to get the most current... Check the source/link for what seems to be the most current.

will this update the modem to the latest version?

Not sure... Flash it and check your about phone, base band version.. Otherwise you will have to update out manually... We have a thread here for that too ..

There will not be an Odin tar for flashing the modem unless Samsung/Sprint releases a "tar" file.

Try flashing and see what happens. If your baseband modem doesn't change in About Phone then you will have to use Odin to flash the EC05 modem then you can flash the update to EI22 modem in CWM.. See thread below.

Re: [ROM]ACS ICS v2 (noCiQ)[EI22]

sorry you totally misunderstood me. my apologies.
when i meant "this file" i meant the OP's file (ACS-ICSv2). I put the modem in yesterday. i love my current rom so I'm torn to update.
has there been a high success rate converting from EC05 in your opinion? I heard problems with stock but i'm sure things have been ironed out some by now.
thanks in advance.

Re: [ROM]ACS ICS v2 (noCiQ)[EI22]

Seeing how I'm not running the Epic anymore I can't tell from first hand... From working the threads.. Seems like everyone once updated to stock GB or a custom ROM of GB has been very pleased...

Speed increases, signal better, snappy and better battery seems to be main things...

Re: [ROM]ACS ICS v2 (noCiQ)[EI22]

Just rooted on EI22 and gather that I'm on RFS.

Can I install this ROM? If not, does anyone have the link & directions to convert RFS to EXT4?

Thx so much.

Yes you are RFS. Flash this rom and it will auto convert to ext4 and then install the rom for you.

Re: [ROM]ACS ICS v2 (noCiQ)[EI22]

For those of you on SFR 1.2 (which is what I came from) this is pretty simple.

Grab the EC05 modem and Odin it on your phone. It will boot up and all should be fine

Grab the EC05 to EI22 CWM flashable modem

Grab the rom itself.

Boot into CWM. Flash the EC05 to EI22. WIpe. Flash the rom.

Then enjoy the GB/ICS goodness. Everything seems to work great minus the known issue with the GPS. Pretty snappy (especially in the gallery). Hopefully some lockscreen mods come out as well as a 1% battery mod.

The battery that shows u the battery level on the right hand top corner doesnt work. I had to grab battery widget off the market wich shows 57% but the one that came with the ROM has said 60% for about 10 hours now

Re: [ROM]ACS ICS v2 (noCiQ)[EI22]

I am on this beast - the stock GB was just too faded, too much junk, too slow. I was spoiled by CM7 and if they ever come out with a fully functional stable version, I am there for the life of the phone. For now, I am shopping, looking for the closest thing the the AOSP experience. Will report on this ROM tomorrow.

And BTW, The Nubernal start up really blows. Great guy, great work but, I mean, DAMN!

Update: installed nicely, very flash looking. Spif!

Update #2: this thing smokes! Still has some bloatware, not completely stripped, but Quadrant Benchmarked in 2600's!

Bah! I want to try this out but need my GPS. Hopefully someone comes up with a fix.

Exactly, I think i am going to take Starsky 1.1 for a spin- its getting rave reviews. But this rom is sick fast, so I'm thinking I can live without GPS for a few days. The 3G is almost as fast as the 4G and the 4G is just crazy fast. Downloaded Starsky (225 MG) directly onto my phone in minutes!!

Does any one know how to fix slow screen orientation on this rom? The old yamaha calib util does not work on this rom and my screen is painfully slow to change orientation.
