You can wait for CyanogenMod. It will give you 2.2, but with a Nexus One style ROM.

If you're gonna install this you might want to wait until tonight. geniusdog254 is going to release his updated kernel (MixUp) tonight based on the newest update DI17, at which time this ROM will get updated using said kernel. That's what I'm waiting for.
