Can i use the HTC MHL adapter that i bought for my evo3d with this phone or will it mess it up? I tried it and it worked but my phone started to get hot. Has anyone else tried it?

Does your adapter have an external power source? If so it should be fine.

the adapter won't work unless you plug in USB power cord.

I just noticed this and am curious if it will work with the E4GT.

Amazon.com: iKross MHL micro-USB to VGA Display and Stereo Audio Adapter for HTC / Samsung Smartphone Connecting to TV & Monitor: Electronics

I've been looking for a single-plug car solution for power in and analog audio out, without using Bluetooth. (The MHL port only outputs digital audio.) This adapter apparently has a digital to analog converter built in so might do the trick.

THe MHL adapter should work on any device that supports it.
MHL is an industry standard and not specific to any handset manufacturer.
So if you have a generic one or one made by HTC or Samsung it should work with all devices that are MHL capable.
