If your device is rooted, you can change the following values in your build.prop file. Worked for me on my Motorola RAZR MAXX, running CM 10.1.

ro.product.model=SCH-I535
ro.product.name=d2vzw
ro.product.device=d2vzw

Downloaded the APK from an external source, changed values, rebooted, installed, boom. Works fine.
