delayed notifications

Is anyone else having an issues with receiving fb notifications on time? I am receiving them anywhere from 10 min to 2 hours late. No clue what but it just seems to be getting worse

clear the history of my internet browser that include:
- Browsing history
- Download history
- Cookies and other site and plug-in data
- Cached images and files
Then login to FB, and the notification & the messages worked again or open the facebook app-> settings-> security-> manage active sessions. Then I removed all of the entries associated with FB

I'm not using a browser for fb. I'm using the app.
