Unblock Facebook Messenger?

I went to google play store to download Facebook Messenger without using Facebook. The install was fine, then I clicked on the I don't have a Facebook account the hit continue, put my phone number in hit continue. I then get a message that says, " It looks like you were misusing feature by going to fast. You've been blocked from using it. Learn more about blocks in the Help Center" How do I unblock it?

By going slower? Which, of course, is nonsense.

Try installing Facebook and creating an account. (The Facebook apps aren't known as the best-written apps.)

I have dumped the app and tried going slower all of which haven't worked. I have reasons for not wanting to reactivate my Facebook account but still like messenger
