Best budget tablet?

I'm looking to upgrade from my HP touchpad running 4.4.4 and ASUS VivoTab RT to a newer tablet as the touchpad is becoming too slow and buggy for me and the vivotab has the notorious ghost touch issue and is mostly useless since RT was retired. Not to mention the touchpad weighs a ton and the battery is on its way out. I'm looking at sub-$250 and would prefer a 10" model. The one I keep coming back to is the Lenovo tab 2 A10. Are there any other models in this price range that compare? Most I see only have 1GB ram which I'd prefer 2GB otherwise it isn't really much of an upgrade from the touchpad. I'd prefer to avoid ASUS again as the vivotab was pretty crappy and had a widespread issue that ASUS just ignored.

The sheild is 7" if I'm not mistaken, and that is simply too small for me.
Yeah, 8" I have a couple. If you want the larger ones and don't want to splurge on Nexus the lenovo is also the best budget one I see (on paper).
