I am sick of Sprint not releasing information on 4G rollout. So I've decided to start my own Facebook blog called Sprint 4G Rollout Updates.

Here I list daily updates of new Sprint 4G rollout service areas as they become live. As well as links to blogs, trade articles, etc. I also have some connections with Clearwire employees to get some advanced information.

If you are a Facebook user, check it out and press LIKE for live updates to appear on your wall.

Sweet, it seems like the 4G rollout with Wiimax has died out. Hopefully this all changes when they convert to LTE. Until then, 3G works just as well :)

I read that article today too. Makes me wonder if the July 28th 2Q Meeting will be very mum about 4G plans. Bummer!!! :-!

I just wish that sprint didnt use the dang on 2.5ghz frequency. I hardly ever get a 4g signal even when standing outside and im in a city where 4g is officially launched.

Sprint/Clear have turned on 4G/WiMax service to the following cities in the past three weeks:

  • ALABAMA: Anniston (an additional tower east of the city)
  • GEORGIA: Flowery Branch
  • ILLINOIS: Kankakee, Ottawa
  • IOWA: Ames
  • MAINE: Caribou
  • MARYLAND: Cumberland
  • MINNESOTA: Wadena
  • NORTH CAROLINA: Asheville (an additional tower near Candler)
  • OHIO: Marion

  • PENNSYLVANIA: Lock Haven
  • TENNESSEE: Crossville, New Tazewell
  • TEXAS: Lamesa

These are all Protection Sites. Indoor service is poor to non-existent at most protection sites, but will work well outside or in your car. You are now free to use your 4G devices in these areas. Have fun and happy surfin'!
