Data plan options at non-verizon location

I was just stepping through upgrade options at costco. (curious whether their extra accessories offers will work for non members)

While doing so, I noticed that it was forcing me to choose a NEW tiered data plan. It gave no option to keep my existing one. It did let me keep my existing voice plan, but not data.

I checked bestbuy out and noticed the same thing.

Anyone else notice this? Are we forced to only upgrade via verizon now, if we want to keep our unlimited data?

Yes. More than likely they are either attempting to force to use thier retail/online stores or get us to blindly give up unlimited data...... buyer beware...

Why do I have this feeling that even if I purchase a phone off-contract, I'd still be forced into their tiered data plans? I just can't trust Verizon to do anything customer-friendly, only friendly for their bottom line.:mad:
