Its now $400 and sometimes goes on sale for less. Got mine for $350 in the holiday sale, just check out Motorola.com. I would also recommend this phone, love the unique features like active notifications and touch less controls.
As far as picking a carrier, it really will depend on where you live/work. If T-Mobile has good coverage in your area I would pick them over Sprint. I was with Sprint for 8 yrs and while coverage was decent data speeds were horrible. I'm talking 200-300kbps down with full signal. In my apartment I get 1-2 bars on T-Mobile 3G and its 5-6Mbps down. Customer service couldn't be any more different either, Sprint is terrible they didn't even care that I left them. T-Mobile's CS is US based and they've always been super helpful for me.
