I am using a Samsung Galaxy S5 (sprint) and the problem I'm facing is that whenever I send a message comprising more than 160 words, the person receiving it on the other end gets it in different parts numbered as 1/2, 2/2 etc although it is not split and is shown as one message when I send it from here. I can receive long messages comprising more than 160 characters without being split in parts. Can someone kindly tell me how can I solve this issue cuz I've got a hell lot of people complaining that they receive my messages in several parts(in the correct order though) but only if I could just get it to appear as a single message on the receiver's phone also same way it is sent from my phone. If someone could suggest an app or an update or anything that could solve this issue I'd be thankful.

It is a by product of being on Sprint's CDMA network. It does that to text messages automatically.
What messenger are you using? Stock or 3rd party?

    Mav.

Sent from my Sprint Tri-Band Nexus 6.

On Sprints CDMA network, the only way you can do that is to send the message as MMS, otherwise they'll always be split into messages of up to 160 characters each. Or you could enable the Sprint/GV integration (making your sprint number your Google voice number) and then integrate SMS with hangouts and send them that way.

This. Anything over 160 characters will be broken up automatically.

Not sure the ages of those here, but when SMS first started out, it was limited to 160 characters and nothing more, think of it as twitter which is 140. Carriers started allowing the phones to send longer messages but they were broken up. SMS=Short Message Service. It was never designed to be long messages or e-mails, things just evolved.

Now a days it is still more of a CDMA carrier issue.

It is NOT... SMS is still limited to 160 characters universally regarless of carrier.... Thing is most carriers/Phones are now using MMS for everything over SMS.... MMS is far more accomidating and works more like IM'ing rather that SMS...

Yes I know MMS doesn't have a limit since it is sent through data .

I'm on T-Mobile and mine are split as well and I get.comaints all the time from people. and TMobile is GMS. Is it because I use wifi calling and messaging when at home? I don't get LTE at home unless I go outside because it's a 105 yr old house. So I use a WiFi router for everything inside...calls and texts etc.
