Verizon month to month discount new customer

Hey guys just hopped aboard the verizon ship after several years with sprint.i opted to bring 2 devices (Galaxy s4) and join the more everything plan with 10gb of data to be eligible for $25 discount. Now sales rep claimed he added the discount, but when I went home I could not see it reflected on my account. I called cs and also confirmed it hadn't been added. They were able to help me get it added, but now I am wondering if the $50 discount for both my lines will be reflected on my first bill? Or is there a gap before it is applied? Don't want to have a inflated first bill. Verizon sales rep claimed it would be applied immediately but don't know if I should believe them.

Typically, changes can be applied to the beginning of the current billing cycle, the current date, or the beginning of the next billing cycle.

Do you mind if i ask why you switched? I found there call line to be spot on.
