Prepaid: Moto E or LG Transpyre?

I'm thinking of switching from Virgin Mobile (b/c of a very old, dying phone, and limited coverage in my area) to Verizon Prepaid. I've narrowed my choice down to the 2015 Moto E 4g or the LG Transpyre 4g. I want a decent, reliable phone with 4g and hotspot capability. I do not use my cell phone often, it's more for emergencies...my life doesn't include regular device use. But, when I need to text or call or check weather or use calendar, etc, I want it to be fast and smooth...I'm not very patient, LOL. Which phone would you recommend? Should I get the LG phone that has Kitkat, or should I get the Moto with Lollipop? Issues either way? Thanks in advance for input!!
