I dropped my phone a few days ago and the screen cracked, preventing me from using the lower half of my device. I'm on a 2 year contract right now but am looking to switch to AT&T next. However, I have 2 months left on my contract and don't want to be charged a fee if I switch. Does it charge a fee? What's my best option at this point?

I believe you'd have to pay an early termination fee for the final two months before you can switch to the Next Program. That fee is prorated, by the way. But, you might talk with someone online or at the AT&T store to see if they would waive the last two months on your contract if you switch to Next.

Yes, it'll be a prorated fee so it shouldn't be much. Other options are to wait it out, if that's even an option given the current state of your device, or purchase a cheap off contract device and use that in the meantime.
