I'm looking to get my Dad a new phone. He's currently using an iPhone 6 but is retiring (returning the company iPhone) and will need a new phone. I'm taking him to Android and he's currently with Verizon. Any ideas on what is the best budget phone for him? He takes some pics but mostly texting, talking and some surfing the web. I thought a Moto G would be great for him. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can't take him from iPhone 6 to moto G... He will hate you for that.

Are you upgrading to a traditional 2 year contract???? Are you enrolling in a device payment plan??

What do you consider a budget phone? I bought the Verizon moto e 2nd gen for $10 recently, it works pretty well for basic tasks and light usage.

I also picked up a Nexus 6 used for $120ish usb a recent promotion.

Thank you all for the quick responses. After much discussion with my Dad, I was not able to lure him over to Android. He's just going to stick with his iPhone which he'll get to keep his number and phone for free and just move it over to his "residential" service. I was going to give him my Moto X 2014 Pure which would have been a great excuse for me to get the 2015 Moto X Pure. Thanks again to all.
