    The one problem with all these plans is that the initial connection is made at HD speeds - then the phone switches to 480p, but the server is still sending HD data, so you spend most of your time watching the video buffer. At least AT&T has made it easy to turn the feature off if you're willing to spend the data.

    I don't think that's how it works. They partner with these providers (YouTube. Netflix, etc.) to work with the feature. They aren't just doing it on their own. This way content is properly delivered.

    If they weren't working with them and doing it then yes I would agree.. It wouldn't work out well.
