How do I turn Voice Directions off in Google Maps Android

Hi

As above, when on my bicycle its really annoying the lady speaking.

If I turn down the phone volume I then can't hear any voice messages etc on speaker.

Any help much appreciated, I've googled it but all the help seems to be for old versions of the app.

On the right side of the screen you'll see 3 buttons (I guess 4 if you count the microphone button to tap for Google Assistant) stacked. There is one that is a speaker, tap that and you can select to mute the directions. You only get that option once you have started navigating.
