Assistant Driving Mode

Driving Mode doesn't appear in my Assistant settings. Thought if I deleted and reinstalled Assistant that might help. Uninstalled but when I check Assistant settings in Maps it's still there. Does Maps have it's own copy of Assistant? Is there a way to delete it? What do I need to do short of what I've done to get Driving Mode? Thanks!
