I've read countless forums in search of answers but have yet to find anyone that has successfully rooted the Samsung Exhibit 4g. Is there anyone here that has figured this out or knows the likelihood? thanks

Unfortunately, it seems there is no current simple method of rooting your device. However, as more people get this device, the dev's will find a way to root. Next will be the custom ROM.

Just relax and wait ;)

Have you tried SuperOneClick? If so, any luck with that? I know that application can pretty much Root nearly all Androids. Its what i use for my Infuse 4G.

current version of superOneClick won't work. There was a rumor that 1 person got it to work, but it wasn't true.

Is there a reason to root the exhibit? Unless you want a custom Rom it allows you to install software other than market. There is a setting to allow non market installs.

Fantastic! Worked perfectly. Got some weird errors about writing in the log but didn't seem to affect the end result.

I also restarted my phone when it was done before I tried anything just for good measure. Don't know if it is needed - the error msgs made me a bit nervous though.

Again, WORKS GREAT on Exhibit 4G - thanks again

Go get:

Revolutionary - zergRush local root 2.2/2.3 [22-10: Samsung/SE update] - xda-developers

then install it, then:

adb push su /system/bin
adb push su /system/xbin
adb shell
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
exit
adb install Superuser.apk
That's a terribly convoluted post, could you please re post it to make it more comprehensible?
I've rooted phones before but i don't feel like bricking my wife's phone, I'd never hear the end of it :p
I'd like to put CM7 on it, it's a Tmobile exhibit 4G
any advice help would be much appreciated

Download 'Root Uninstaller' to uninstall, but I just use 'Bloat Freezer' to freeze them instead. Bloat Freezer pushes Ads now with Airpush on Wi-Fi only, but you can block those too.
