I have a new archos 7 tablet. When I try to load apps the market tells me there is not a phone # associated with the account. I try to use my Gmail account it tries to send the app to my phone. How do I get apps on that tablet. I'm new to android, so if more infoi will do my best to find it. Thanks

You should be able to just click download in the market and the app should install automatically. It sounds like the device is not recognizing your google account. Go to Settings/Accounts & Sync and make sure there is a valid gmail account there, if not add one. If all else fails try a factory reset.

The older gen archos tablets don't have the market or gmail on them, so you have to install the right files to get it to work.

No, totally just made it up. . [/sarcasm]

It's pretty common on pre-HC tablets, but there's usually a workaround. Definitely worth it for the price difference from the Galaxy Tab 7.
