Could be the Wi-Fi encryption being used. Some of the older phones do not like WPA2 encryption. Do you know what the Encryption is?

Also besides the WiFi encryption issue, the Hotel may not have set up their WiFi to: 802.11b & 802.11g & 802.11n

If they have their WiFi set to just "N" only you will not be able to use G or B certified wireless devices because the compatibility is not there.

Also with many cell phones the built in "N" chips tend to use the older versions which some do not work with newer non-draft versions of "N".

Same thing goes for if they have set their WiFi to: N and B, you won't get G.

So the Hotel's WiFi may work with a laptop but not a phone.

I would check with the Hotel office to check & verify their settings. In fact you could go down there with your phone.

Hope that may help
